Thoughts of Me

         Thoughts of Me

an introduction to my style of prose

With as much thinking, pondering, writing, so on and so forth and the like, I figured it best to start a blog, a place to publicly share my thoughts and prose, poetry and entries, and all other writings. Let it be known, here and now, that my writing is not structured, it is not formatted, it is visceral, spontaneous, it is true and honest, it is me. That it how I think thus that is how I write, unedited and honestly. I write much like the late great Kerouac, straight from mind to pencil to page.

My writing varies depending on the feelings I'm delving into at the time. I try to pen most of my work on travel, as that is a major fascination of mine. The wide world and all it has to offer, the people, the places, the landscapes and the stories, all of it needs to be chronicled and shared with those who have yet to meet them, see them, and hear them. To see this world, meet these people, hear their stories, write them, build them into compendiums, and enter them into the annals of literature and history is my dream, my duty almost. My writing also teeters towards nostalgia. I spend many waking hours in my own head, reminiscing on the days past, pondering on the days to come. Often times these thoughts fill me with stress, dread, a general state of worry, so in order to quell these feelings and to share my own life with others, I jot them down, into notes, poems, spontaneous prose, light fiction, so on and so forth. That way it acts as both a therapeutic force for me, and also etches a piece of me, a piece of my life and mind onto page. Most of my other writings come from other places and is about other things, usually whatever I'm feeling, doing, seeing, experiencing, reading, etc at the moment. As I said before, my writing is very spontaneous. When I feel the need to write, I write, and it could be about a million things, far too many to jot here.

So I write. I write for me. I write for the reader. I write for all the writers who came before me, leading me to find my own voice and style. I write for the writers yet to come, so that maybe my voice will help to strengthen theirs. I write so that maybe one day my name and writings will be put amongst the greatest literary names of history the likes of Hemingway, or London, or Kerouac, or Whitman. And if that is to never happen, then so be it, because at the end of the day, I write for me.

     Thank you.
